Using the Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter on a PC Recently My Ethernet LAN Network Card couldnt find the Drivers and wouldnt work; so, Im using my genuine Official Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter as my PCs Ethernet Network card. And Like all PC Hardware under Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX, and even Linux Distributions; They require Hardware Device Drivers. When you Plug an USB Device in to Windows Itll register in the "Windows Device Manager". When Device Manager Runs itll detect the LAN Adapter as "AX88772", It cant find the Driver Software so youll have to download an Installer Manually; Dont worry I already found it on the Manufacturers website, and will add a Link to the Web Site in this Post. And remember these drivers are only for Nintendos LAN Adapter for the Wii; the Wii U LAN Adapter may use different Hardware. And other Vendors like Datel for example will use different Hardware/Drivers. A used Nintendo Wii LAN adapter isnt expensive; Gamestop sells them for around $12 USD....

Using WRITE SECURE SETTINGS permission on non system apps I happen to frequently use an app that doesnt work if USB Debugging - ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is enabled. It is very cumbersome to go to settings and enable or disable the setting every time I need to use the app. I checked if there are any widgets that could do this in a click and returned empty handed. So, I did what every developer would do - build it myself! In order to change the adb settings, I had to use WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission. But there was one major problem! This permission is not available for non system apps!! The easiest solution to this was to move the apk to /system partition. Except that I didnt want to do this as I frequently keep flashing /system partition. Another solution was to use pm and grant permission to the app like this: adb pm grant <package name> android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS This was great! Using Rom Collection Browser to play NES games on XBMC 12 with Ubuntu XBMC is by far my favorite IPTV software. I run it in my living room and use it to play my music collection and easily watch my entire DVD collection without ever needing to pop in CDs or DVDs. All my media is stored in a hard drive on my home server. I had toyed around with using the Rom Collection Browser plugin to play Nintendo games, but getting it working right is not a trivial task. After a lot of messing around I finally have it working right. These instructions are using XBMC 12 on Ubuntu 13.10 and fceux for the emulator. First things first. Using AppleScript for workflow automation on Mac I see a lot of people talking (or writing) about workflow automation on Mac OS X. Most of them (almost all) talk about Automator. Using Make for Easy Yocto Builds On Intel Edison This documentation goes though the process of building a Yocto Linux image via simple make files for the Intel Edison board. The make file method for building Yocto images is much simpler than the manual build methods. The make files provided by Intel in the BSP Edison source package wrap the build process with scripts to make building an extremely simple process. Most of the base steps found in this documentation were based on Intels Board Support Package (BSP) User Guide. The BSP User Guide can be found here. Also note, all of these steps were tested in Ubuntu Linux 14.04 x64 LTS. As of this writing, this OS/Version has the most support for doing Edison source builds.
