Using a Google Gadget to get a Productivity Boost from Notes 8 Improving Productivity Its all great news that Lotus Notes 8.0.1 and above support Google Gadgets. A brilliant move IBM. The problem is that most of the demonstrations show you how to add really useful things, like personal fish-tanks to the Notes client. (Thanks Alan Lepofsky - a brilliant demo btw) rather than business productivity applications. It was hard to see the immediate business value of gadgets and even harder to sell it to the business. Thankfully now, Ive got a good and simple example. Im not sure if my behaviour is unique but somehow I expect that its not. Video conferencing increases productivity   Video collaboration increases productivity and improves both business and personal relationships, according to video conferencing technology company Lifesize.   The company polled its users and says that 99.2 percent of respondents find video conferencing boosts relationships both in and out of the office. No word on how many people were polled, though.   Also, 91.7 percent of respondents say it is easier to get their point across when they can see the other person on video, and 77.7 percent say their productivity jumped, and their work-life balance improved.   "Frost & Sullivan research findings are in line with the Lifesize survey results.
